Foreclosure prevention advocates are busy this year trying to help Travis County families keep their homes, or walk away from them without a Foreclosure Austin on their credit record.
Jay Turner said his organization is trying to help over 60 homeowners by negotiating with banks to get them a settled account, in exchange for selling him the house for a profitable investment.”I’ve been quite busy,” he said in an e-mail. “I recently met with a good many homeowners to explain in plain speaking english how the system I have works for them, helping them avoid the hassle of talking to banks, and getting out of a crushing mortgage in a house they can’t afford anymore.”
