Traveling on a Budget

Monday, November 9th, 2009

I love finding good deals when I travel. I was able to put together a trip to Mexico for under 300 dollars. For that kind of money most people think I slept on the streets, ate out of dumpsters and traveled by foot, this is not the case. I did look for cheap hotels in mexico city, but I found one that was really comfortable . I was able to take three sight seeing tours and even had a few dollars to eat at one of the nicest restaurants Mexico City had to offer. For my next trick I am going to do Europe for under 1000 dollars.

Best Restaurants in Italy?

Monday, October 26th, 2009

I know, I know, I’m a serious foodie. Everyone makes fun of me for it. But I don’t care, I think if you’re going to take a trip to Italy, you have to experience the food. I’m going to spend a few days in Rome and then I’m thinking about quick milan and venice city breaks afterwards. So I’m doing all my research now on the best spots to eat in all those cities. There are way too many restaurants to choose from! I’d better brush up on my Italian, too - at least enough so I can read the menu!

My husband and I live with our son in log cabin in Fairbanks, Alaska.  We try to leave for at least a month during the coldest part of the winter and this year we are going to Arizona.  We have spent several of our vacation in Arizona because the Arizona vacation rentals are so affordable and nice.  I am looking forward to laying by the pool and getting a tan.  I’m sure we’ll do lots of shopping as well since there are more shops than what we’re used to.  I enjoy living in Alaska, but I love visiting warmer climates often.

Some friends of mine invited me to come along on a white water rafting trip in the Adirondack Mountains a few weeks ago. Yesterday was the trip, and I must say it was the most fun I’ve had in a long time! I was a little worried when the guide was telling us how dangerous it could be if you didn’t pay attention, but once we got on the river, I found that the dangers were easy to spot and had so much fun. Rafting in the Adirondack Mountains is both beautiful and exciting because there are so many big mountains and nice scenery to look at. My favorite part was definitely the bigger rapids. They were such a rush! It was nice just floating down the river on the calmer parts as well, but I could help but look forward to the next bunch of rapids.

The Place to Find Miami Short Term Rentals

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

I own a company that keeps me pretty busy.  I have offices in Tampa Bay, Houston, and Miami.  We are having some problems at the Miami location so I’m going to be there for at least six weeks, maybe longer.  I have been looking for suitable accommodations and have found a site that features a wide variety of Miami short term rentals.  They are furnished tastefully and located in ideal locations.  I have made reservations for a place that’s just a few miles from the office.  With any luck I will be able to clear everything up quickly and get back home.

Thanksgiving and Christmas in Turkey

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

After much deliberation we decided not to spend our holidays with family this year.  We have some friends that live in Turkey and they have been asking us for many years to come spend the holidays with them, so this year we had Turkey Holidays, in Turkey.  We flew over a few days before Thanksgiving.  They have their own traditions during this season and it was exciting to be able to spend it there with our friends.  Since our friends live out of town we decided to rent a room at a nice hotel in the center of town.  We spent Christmas there in front of a huge fireplace in the hotel.  It was truly beautiful.

Family Friendly Ireland

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

We have a small family and we purposefully stayed a small family so that we could do more together. It is important that we stay within budget but to me family vacations are very important and we try to make them as grand as possible. That is why we are looking for tourism Ireland information that is more designed for families. We want to be able to take our kids everywhere with us but understand that the terrain and sites may not be exactly inviting for a stroller. We want to design the trip around the places we can go as a family.
