This is a common debate among outdoor furniture sellers Which Timber is best suited for outdoor furniture.  Well what seem to be the popular choices ?  its a compete between good old fashioned Teak and Kwila- which is sometimes called merbau. the truth is they have very similar qualities and it is more a question of how the timber was treated before the furniture was manufactured. if its kiln dried and this is done proffessionaly and properley then the timber will be fine. Most problems occur when the timber used has not been dried enough. Personally I prefer Kwila but my wife likes Teak.
