I’m sure you’ve been to a garage sale at some point in your life. Maybe you were looking for a specific item. Maybe your wife dragged you along. Or maybe you needed new furniture for your apartment and were just hoping to stumple upon a few gems. I personally hate garage sales because they are usually nothing but old junk, as in ratty old clothes and beat up stained furniture or extremely ugly coffee tables. But as they say one mans junk is another mans treasure. I was lucky enough to pick up a mantel clock recently at one and when I had it appraised later in the week it was worth 200 times what I paid for it. That’s why we all go to garage sales. Because every now and then we get lucky.
