Let Him Go!

November 9th, 2009

Your friends look at you in disbelief, your mother shakes her head in disgust, and your sister tells you you’re crazy. Don’t ignore these not so subtle warning signs that chasing after your ex is not a smart idea. Take a few deep breaths before you rush to the computer and search on how to get your ex husband back. Spend some time really thinking about how you were together, and don’t omit his faults, quirks, or blatant assaults. Keep up your own confidence; you can do so much more. Go on, move out into the uncharted world and let that weight around your finger go.

Job salary and benefits

Louise Giordano has been a career counselor at Brown University since 1992 and solely staffs the Providence College Alumni Career Advising Program. Often salary and benefits are not discussed at all on the first interview. Let the interviewer bring up this subject. Many employers like the idea that you can be taught their individual company procedures without needing to get rid of other training first.

History of Fly Fishing 2

November 9th, 2009

In the 19th century, the sport of fly fishing began to develop into its modern form with the formation of fly fishing clubs in England. At this time the first complete books were written describing the types of equipment used and the methods for tying the various types of lures. The sport was very elitist at this time. It was thought to be a “gentleman’s sport”, and certain methods of fishing were considered proper while other methods were looked down on as being uncouth. It is thought by many that the modern techniques of fly fishing were developed as a solution to a rather specific fishing circumstance. In many of the rivers in Southern England, fish lived among rather high growing weeds and a method was needed of dropping lures on the surface among the weeds without snagging the hooks. The method of “presenting” flies was the solution to this particular problem and the success of the procedure led to its use in other fishing circumstances.

Basil

November 9th, 2009

Here’s something to do with all that basil growing in the back yard. This is a Provençal take on pesto, in case you’re tired of the Genovese kind with pine nuts. The recipe is from Lulu’s Provençal Table. Take 3 garlic cloves, about 12 anchovy filets (salt-cured are best, but have to be cleaned), and a pinch of salt, and pound them in a large mortar with a wooden pestle until you have a paste. Take a couple of generous handfuls of fresh basil (including flowers) and pound it with the anchovy-garlic paste. You have to keep adding basil and pounding it down until you eventually get a rough puree. It does take a while. There is no substitute for pounding it with a pestle–pureeing it with a machine just doesn’t yield the same intense, sharp flavor.  I love doing this in my free time while having my favorite coffee using my flavored coffee pods.

Traveling on a Budget

November 9th, 2009

I love finding good deals when I travel. I was able to put together a trip to Mexico for under 300 dollars. For that kind of money most people think I slept on the streets, ate out of dumpsters and traveled by foot, this is not the case. I did look for cheap hotels in mexico city, but I found one that was really comfortable . I was able to take three sight seeing tours and even had a few dollars to eat at one of the nicest restaurants Mexico City had to offer. For my next trick I am going to do Europe for under 1000 dollars.

Hope We Can Agree Soon

November 9th, 2009

While talking to a friend about the possibility of opening a internet store the subject of website hosting was brought up. We differed on the basic principle. My friend says we should develope everything ourselves. I think we should use all the convenient add-ons etcetera that are available through a hosted site. With those additions you can make a website look very professional. Not like a few stick men pointing to a handwritten sign. I think that if you are going to try to sell something, then you will need to use the widgets and templates. I hope we can agree soon, as we are stuck going nowhere.

I couldn’t be happier for my darling daughter today as she and her fiance announced they were getting married. I wish her father and I had more money to offer her in the planning of her wedding, but with her dad losing his job last year, our savings are about wiped out.  She and Joseph, her fiance, both work so I’m sure they can come up with some money. However most uk wedding venues are just so expensive. I wonder if his parents would also consider chipping in on the cost of the wedding. I’ll mention that to daughter and see what she thinks.

The Benefits of Solar Panels

November 8th, 2009

There are many benefits to using Solar Panels Do It Yourself kits over some other forms of energy efficiency. There is not any kind of restrictions in place that states that you cannot have solar panels on your house. They are used a lot more residential than ever before. Many places inside the city don’t allow wind and hydro power systems that you see out in the country. One of the coolest benefits to having solar panels is that they can replace other materials like roofing tiles because they are embedded inside flat, waterproof materials called modules that take up no more room than a regular tile would.
