My husband took an overseas job, which meant our entire family, including myself and four children would be accompanying him.  We knew his would be a long term job assignment, and we wanted to buy a house instead of renting.  To gain knowledge, I went to the bookstore and purchased software for overseas property estate agents.  I was not an agent, but still wanted to learn all I could.  The software taught me all about current pricing, fair market value, and how to showcase our property when it comes time to sell it.  We are enjoying where we are,  and have no plans of selling. Nevertheless, when the time comes, we will have the knowledge of the estate software we bought before we moved.
